Carlos Lozano

VIOLIN/VIOLA

Carlos Lozano's journey in music is quite impressive. Born in Veracruz, Mexico, he developed a passion for the violin at a young age, beginning his formal education under the guidance of Iliana Stefanova and Nataliya Semanivska in Mexico. His pursuit of musical excellence led him to Andrews University in Michigan, where he studied Violin Performance under Carla Trynchuk, ultimately earning a Bachelor's degree.

During his time at Andrews University, Carlos discovered a deep affinity for the viola and commenced studying this instrument with Claudio Gonzalez. This newfound love for the viola led him to Western Michigan University, where he further honed his skills and completed a Master's degree in Viola Performance under the tutelage of Igor Fedotov.

Continuing his musical education and orchestral aspirations, Carlos is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Orchestral Studies at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts. Here, he receives instruction from Larry Neuman and Li-Kuo Chang for orchestral repertoire, and from Igor Fedotov and Roger Chase for solo repertoire.

Carlos Lozano has had the privilege of contributing his talents as a substitute with various orchestras, including the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony, and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. He is a dedicated member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra.

Beyond his musical pursuits, Carlos enjoys staying active with outdoor sports such as soccer, volleyball, and biking. His love for the beach draws him there during the summer, providing a balance between his musical and recreational interests. Carlos's commitment to his craft and diverse experiences in the world of orchestral music showcase a well-rounded and passionate musician.
